Photography skills practice

The technique that has been used in this image is a high angle. This has been used on a rounding staircase to allow all four people to fit into the photograph. The placing of each person in the image suggests that they are all of equal importance to one another because they are all central in the picture and even though two of the four people are higher up on the staircase, this is not shown through the shot used because the use of a high angle makes it seem as if they are all on the same level. This sort of shot would be used on a double page spread article in an indie rock music magazine because it is the sort of image a band would be photographed in.

The image to the left is likely to be used in an indie rock magazine for a double page spread article. This is because the way in which the two people are sat is very layed back which is stereotypical of an indie rock singer. The way in which the shoes are very close to the front of the picture make it seem as if the photograph has a lot of depth to it which gives the picture more character than if it was taken straight on.
